At Fer & Square, I lead the print production team and oversee creative design tasks across multiple mediums. My role bridges design, hands-on production and art direction — from designing, preparing and troubleshooting design files, to coordinating daily workflows that keep the team productive and projects on track.
Some highlights from my time at Fer & Square — showcasing design work I created during my role.
Illustration & Merch Design
One of my first design assignments after joining F&S was creating an illustration for a client's summer “Heatwave” collection. I wanted to start off with a bang, so I designed a Buddha illustration that was fun, psychedelic, and colorful. Since the design was going to be screen printed, I had to be strategic with the colors and details while still bringing the illustration to life.
The design went on to become the client's best-selling merchandise drop and best-selling sticker, making it one of the most successful projects I've worked on at F&S.
Branding & Packaging Design
Throughout my time at F&S, I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of branding and packaging projects for different clients. From developing visual identities to designing product labels, each project brought its own direction and challenges. Here's a look at some of the work I've created over the years.
Metanoia
The client wanted a psychedelic visual identity with a high level of detail. Drawing inspiration from Alex Grey's artwork, I explored that direction to develop a distinctive look for the brand.
Madlabs
The client wanted to explore the cannabis cultivation process as the main visual theme for the packaging. With that in mind, I took a more abstract approach, combining different images to create a visual story that unfolds from left to right.
Ghost Crow
The client wanted the branding to reflect martial arts culture in a way that felt authentic to the community. They emphasized that the design couldn't feel forced or inauthentic. To achieve that, I drew inspiration from traditional Japanese printmaking, using its bold imagery and limited color palette as the foundation for the brand identity and packaging.
Stoned Invaders
Stoned Invaders was developed as a pre-designed branding package for clients looking to launch a brand without starting from scratch. The idea was to create a ready-to-print identity that clients could purchase and customize with minor adjustments to fit their needs, offering a quicker and more accessible way to bring their brand to life.
Product Label Design
Alongside larger branding projects, I've also designed individual product labels for clients who needed packaging without a full brand identity. Each project came with its own requirements and creative direction, giving me the opportunity to develop designs that suited the product while balancing visual appeal with the practical needs of print production.
3D Animation & Motion Design
Throughout my time at F&S, I've also created 3D animations for client product drops using Blender. I learned the software on the job, building on my skills with each project and figuring out new techniques to bring different products to life through motion. These animations created engaging visuals to showcase our clients new releases. My role on these projects were the 3D animations, the artwork was created by my coworker.
Stickers
Throughout my time at F&S, I've created a wide range of sticker designs, exploring everything from bold illustrations and typography to more detailed and experimental artwork. These projects have given me the freedom to explore different styles while creating designs that translate well from screen to print.
